Ugly Singaporeans

I bet you’ve heard this before, “Some people just don’t leave the house with their brain.”
How about this?
“Most Singaporeans just don’t board the train with their heart.”
Mine oh mine, talking about being ugly.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
15th January 2007

I got onto the train holding a big, bulky box with both my hands.
I sure don’t feel at ease standing and I look like I’m about to lose my balance anytime.
As usual, the train is crowded with commuters a few minutes after 6pm.
I don’t expect those who are seated to “sacrifice” their seats for me.
After all, I don’t look pregnant.
Neither do I have grey hair sticking out of my crown.
But I just don’t understand why those who are standing can bear to vie an empty seat with me when there’s finally one.
And it is merely 1 step away (perhaps 2 steps for my goody pal) from me.
I would have graciously surrendered the long-awaited seat to someone who is more in need of it.
But, I don’t see any handicaps in a man who is reading Today newspaper and is so engrossed in it.
I love to say, “I will recognize him even if he turns into ashes,” but too bad I’m not given a chance because never once did he lift up his head.
So how do you describe ugliness?
I have no answer since his face was buried in the papers. *Wink*

Christians or non-christians, I think everyone should listen to last week's sermon.

Freewill-Freedom of Choice

Our freedom had been bought at a price- this I know.
What I didn't know- Dad is still paying the price.
-------------------------------------------------------
My heart really aches.
Not because of what he had done but what he is still doing.
Yet I can't stop and I can't help
Only to see him sinks deeper and deeper.
He shuts his ears
But I can't close my eyes;
And I can't ignore.
So the pain continues to drill into my soul.
-------------------------------------------------------
He can stop us from going astray and go against our will.
But He won't cos He loves.
So He suffers the torn
As His children go farther.
Ouch.

John 8:1-11

But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.2 Now early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people came to Him; and He sat down and taught them. 3 Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst, 4 they said to Him, “Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act. 5 Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?”6 This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as though He did not hear.7 So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.” 8 And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. 9 Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. 10 When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her,“Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?” 11 She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”

This passage has never seemed so real until 31st December 2006.

Sigh, what a truth to learn before the year ends!

I realised that Jesus has a big heart. Really big.

It wasn't easy to make the last statement especially when that which was committed was considered immoral even to the world.

I need His heart. Big heart.
